Date: Wednesday, 25th November 2026
Time: 8:00-9:00AM GMT (UTC+0)
Duration: 1 Hour
In our webinar we’ll explore:
- Fundamental techniques for obtaining high-quality Doppler signals and waveforms
- The physiology behind normal and pathological Doppler waveforms
- Applying waveform interpretation to real-world clinical scenarios
- How Doppler findings contribute to a comprehensive lower limb vascular assessment
- The relationship between pulses, waveforms, pressures and clinical presentation
- The role of hand-held Doppler in supporting clinical assessment
- How Doppler findings can help inform referral and management decisions
- How Duplex ultrasound complements bedside assessment by providing additional anatomical and haemodynamic information
Hand-held Doppler remains one of the most accessible and valuable tools available to clinicians assessing lower limb vascular health. When used alongside pulse examination, pressure measurements and clinical assessment, it can help build a clear picture of arterial perfusion quickly and effectively. This webinar will show how a structured approach to waveform interpretation can help remove uncertainty, increase confidence and support better clinical decision-making.
Because Doppler is more than a signal. It’s one piece of the vascular puzzle.
Take the fear out of vascular assessment and discover how much information a waveform can provide in as little as 30 seconds.

Meet the Speakers
Dr. Peta Tehan – Clinical podiatrist and researcher with a special interest in peripheral arterial disease
Dr Tehan has contributed to the evidence base by publishing over 100 peer reviewed articles in the field and is currently leading a Cochrane review investigating the diagnostic accuracy of toe pressures and toe-brachial indices to detect peripheral arterial disease. Dr Tehans research has influenced clinical practice, and national and international guidelines.
It is Dr Tehan’s hope that the early and accurate detection of peripheral arterial disease can result in optimal management, which will in turn, result in fewer lower limb amputations and deaths. Dr Tehan is currently working as a senior lecturer in the Masters of Wound Care program in the department of Surgery at Monash University, Australia, and also works as a senior podiatrist in the high risk foot service at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, Australia. Dr Tehan also holds an honorary appointment as a senior lecturer in the Podiatry program at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Dr Tehan is the chair of the Wounds Australia research committee, a trustee of the Australian Podiatry Education Research Fund, and an editorial board member of Vascular Medicine, and the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research. Dr Tehan is currently focused on closing the gap in diabetic foot disease related outcomes between rural and metropolitan areas of Australia.
Martin Fox – BSc, FFPM RCPS (Glasg), FCPodM Vascular Podiatrist, NHS
Martin works in the first NHS commissioned, podiatry-led, community lower limb vascular service, in Manchester; providing early identification, diagnosis and best clinical management of people with peripheral arterial disease, in partnership with primary care, vascular teams and others. He is committed to supporting all lower limb clinicians, to develop their capabilities and confidence in peripheral arterial assessment and safe, proactive decisions.
He presents lectures and workshops locally, nationally and internationally at various professional conferences on podiatry and peripheral vascular disease, is active on social media and writes journal articles and book chapters on these themes. He has been an active member of the Foot in Diabetes UK national committee since 2004, supporting clinicians and championing lower limb and cardiovascular management of people living with diabetes. He served on the NICE Guideline committee for The Diagnosis and Management of Peripheral Arterial Disease Guidelines (CG 147) and has presented in the Houses of Parliament and contributed to the reports of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Vascular Disease. He has worked with the Royal College of Podiatry and the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland to produce the first two Memorandum of Understandings between the two professional bodies.
He is currently also an elected council member with the Royal College of Podiatry, serving a third term and chairing the Clinical Senate committee. He has been awarded fellowships by the RCPSG and RCPod and the NHS England CAHPO Gold Award for Excellence, for his role in developing, delivering and contributing to vascular podiatry, within the podiatry profession, the AHP community and with other key vascular stakeholders.
Richard Rounsley – General Manager and a Senior Vascular Sonographer at Vascular One
Richard is a vascular sonographer with over 16 years experience. He is the current chief sonographer at Vascular One in Newcastle, Australia.
Richard has extensive experience in arterial and venous sonography, working closely with vascular surgeons. He regularly presents at conferences and has been extensively involved in education for podiatrists and allied health professionals.
